BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Let me be your guide to the magnificent State Rooms at Buckingham Palace during its short Summer opening season. In these 19 rooms, The Queen and members of the Royal Family receive and entertain guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. I’ll explain the history of the Palace, the development and roles of the main rooms, including the Throne Room and the magnificent White Drawing Room, and I’ll introduce you to some of the treasures from the Royal Collection they contain, including paintings by Van Dyck and Canaletto, sculpture by Canova, and some of the very finest English and French furniture. We’ll also spend time in the Picture Gallery, which displays some of the Royal Collection’s greatest paintings: while the selection on show changes regularly, you can expect to see paintings by Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck and Claude. I hope to make your visit to the heart of the British Monarch truly unforgettable.
